Terms of Service

Last updated 1 October 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Bear Tools website at beartools.dev and of any application, browser extension or other software published by Bear Tools (the “Apps”). By using the website or an App you agree to these Terms.

Bear Tools is operated by Individual Entrepreneur Aleksandr Gerasimov, Georgia, Tbilisi, Krtsanisi District, Settlement Ponichala 3, Building 5, Entrance 2, Floor 4, Auxiliary Storage Room (“we”, “us”). Questions go to apps@beartools.dev.

1. The service

We build and sell small productivity applications. Each App has its own page on this website describing what it does and what it costs. Features may change as an App is improved; we will not remove a headline feature you are paying for without notice.

Where an App has a free allowance — for example a number of free uses before a subscription is needed — the allowance is stated on that App’s page. We may change the size of a free allowance for new users, but not in a way that reduces what you have already paid for.

2. Who can use the Apps

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a contract in your country of residence. If you are using an App on behalf of a company, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms for it.

3. Accounts

Some Apps require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Subscriptions are sold on a monthly or yearly basis, as shown on the page for each App.

  • Payments are taken by our payment provider, which acts as our reseller and merchant of record. You see who they are at checkout and on your receipt. Your purchase is therefore also subject to their own terms, and your receipt and invoice come from them.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until cancelled.
  • You may cancel at any time in the customer portal linked from your receipt and invoice email or from inside the App, or by writing to us. You can cancel immediately or at the next billing date; either way access continues to the end of the period already paid for.
  • If a price changes, the new price applies from your next renewal and we will tell you before that renewal.
  • Whether a displayed price includes tax depends on where you are. In most countries, including the EU, the UK and Australia, it includes VAT or GST; in the US, Canada and a few others, sales tax is added at checkout. The checkout shows the exact tax before you pay, and the merchant of record collects and remits it.
  • If a price is displayed incorrectly through an obvious error, we may cancel the affected order and refund it in full rather than supply at that price.

Refunds are covered by our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

5. Licence and acceptable use

Subject to these Terms and to payment of the applicable fees, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Apps. Unless an App’s page says otherwise, one subscription covers use by one person on the devices that person controls.

You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Apps, reverse engineer them except where the law expressly allows it, work around usage limits or payment, or use them to break the law or to harm others.

Some Apps work alongside a third-party platform — for example a browser extension that runs on a video site. Using such an App does not exempt you from that platform’s own terms, and you remain responsible for complying with them. The material an App helps you work with may also belong to someone else: you are responsible for having the right to use it, and for what you then do with the output. We do not grant you any rights in third-party content.

If you believe an App has been used to infringe your copyright, write to apps@beartools.dev with the material concerned, where it appears and your contact details, and we will act on it.

6. AI results and independence

Some features produce their output with AI. Results can be incomplete or simply wrong — a transcript is only as good as the captions behind it, and a summary or a translation is an interpretation. Check anything you are going to rely on, and do not treat the output as professional advice or as the sole basis for a decision.

Our Apps are independent products. They are not sponsored or endorsed by, or affiliated with, YouTube, Google, OpenAI or any other platform they work alongside, and platform names are used only to say what an App does.

7. Our intellectual property

The Apps, the website, and the Bear Tools name and marks belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership; you get the licence in section 5 and nothing more.

If you send us a suggestion, we may act on it without owing you anything, but we will not claim ownership of anything else you send us.

8. Your content

Anything you create with an App stays yours. We claim no ownership over it. Where an App stores or processes data on our servers, we do so only to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Notice.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the Apps working and available, but they are provided “as is” and we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Apps marked as “beta” are still under active development and may change or break. Where an App depends on a third-party platform, a change on that platform may stop a feature working, and we may need time to adapt.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the website or an App is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost data.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death, personal injury or fraud, and statutory consumer rights are not affected.

11. Indemnity

If you use an App in breach of these Terms or of the law and someone brings a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages we incur as a result. This does not apply where the claim arises from our own breach or negligence, and nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Apps at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, or if we discontinue an App — in which case we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period. On termination the licence in section 5 ends; sections 7, 10, 11 and 14 survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “last updated” date, and where the change affects a paid subscription we will tell subscribers by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel before it applies.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia, and the courts of that jurisdiction have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country, or of the right to bring proceedings there.

Before starting proceedings, please write to apps@beartools.dev describing the problem and what you would like us to do. Most things are settled that way within 30 days.

15. General

If any part of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a right straight away does not mean we give it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our agreement; we may transfer ours to a successor of the business, and your rights are unaffected by that. These Terms, together with the Privacy Notice and the Refund Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the Apps.
